Vacation!

Well, we made it to the beach with a very uneventful trip. Harrison slept in the car and I watched a gazillion episodes of Diego....three hours later we were here! Pops and Gams' house is currently under construction, so we're borrowing someone else's and it's perfect! A great big room upstairs and two little "apartments" downstairs. So people who don't wake up at the crack of dawn can enjoy some peace and quiet. Although, I spent all morning, yelling "Wake up Pops! Wake up Gams!" So, the peace and quiet was still slightly disrupted, but people usually seem happy to see me any time of day :)

Harrison and I played the drums this morning and I got to hold baby Abbey and then Pops offered to take me swimming so I put on my new suit -- the two piece was briefly a problem because I kept trying to pull on the top to make it cover my belly and told Mommy to close it -- but then I decided it was fun to run around telling everyone to look at my belly! There's a hot tub under the house, so we used that as a swimming pool and it's perfect for me. Harrison even tried it out too.

We got dressed and went to mass -- this is a very good church out here at the beach. The entire mass (including the last song) lasted 35 minutes. Perfect for me. Harrison and I both did great. Then we came home and played with Bobby before bedtime.
It was still a little rainy out today, but we're supposed to have sunshine for the rest of the week, so hopefully we'll get to go see the ocean tomorrow!

Lions and Tigers and Bears!

Today we went to the zoo! I saw lions, tigers, elephants, gorillas, and almost every animal that's ever been on Go Diego Go :)....and of course, the baby panda! Our last stop was at the kids farm, which was basically a petting zoo. I thought it would be fun to pet a cow, but when the cow turned around to look at me, I totally freaked out and wanted to get away immediately. "That scared me Mommy!" A few onlookers thought it was pretty funny (so did Mom).
We got to go meet Uncle Scott's dad today....he is a pediatrician and I have a strange bump on my arm that he said he would take a look at. Once Mommy told me we were going to the doctor, I wouldn't let her look at the bump anymore. "No Mommy....doctor look at it." As soon as Dr. Palumbo walked in the room, I didn't even say hi or introduce myself. I just held out my arm and told him I had a bug bite. He said it didn't look so bad and gave Mommy some topical steroids to put on it. I decided I'm now all better. Thank you Dr. Palumbo! I even got to see baby Abbey at the doctor's office because she was there seeing her own doctor for her 2 month check-up. Baby Abbey had to get shots, so we made a quick exit before that happened!
Tomorrow we head down to the beach! Hopefully we'll be able to get online and keep you posted of everything we do down there!

Happy Anniversary

Well, instead of the traditional routine of watching Diego when I wake up, I got to watch a movie of Mommy and Daddy getting married (it is anniversary tradition to watch the thing, so Mommy thought she'd watch it with us). I was loving it screaming out everytime I saw someone else (Look! There's my Da Da! Look! There's Amy! There's my Pops! There's Asher's Mommy! Look.....!!!!). This was fun for part of the slideshow and then it hit me.... I WANT MY DA DA!!! I burst into tears and Mommy is pretty sure she has never seen me so sad -- bad bad bad idea Mommy! So now I'm watching Diego :)

Girls Night

Here's mommy having fun with her friends. We did great with Pops and Gams. Apparently I hurt my finger (barely) and they tried to kiss it but I said I wanted Mommy to kiss it and started crying for her. But then Gams offered to take me for a walk in my stroller and suddenly I was completely healed and forgot all about Mommy! Harrison was asleep when Mommy left and asleep when she got home, so I guess that was a good night for him too!

I spy...

So we started out this morning with a swim in the pool and I discovered the teething toy makes a great pair of glasses. Mom thought the picture was pretty cute...

Then we went to Bobby's house to see the new place and to help Aunt Jen childproof the place. Mom had her hands pretty full so she never took any pictures, but I was a great helper and showed everyone how to use the screwdriver and the stud finder (Mom wouldn't let me try out the drill!)

Harrison and I both fell asleep in the car about two seconds after we left their house, so Mom went for a long drive to let us get a decent nap in. We ended up downtown and took a driving tour of DC - I saw the White House and the Washington Monument ("it's really tall!"). Then we stopped by Senate Park and took pictures of us in honor of Mommy and Daddy's wedding anniversary tomorrow (that's where they had their wedding photos taken). We had a little trouble getting coordinated but the it was more to be able to say we were there than to have a perfect photo! :)

Mommy has to cut this short because she's going out to dinner with a bunch of her girlfriends tonight. Harrison and I are staying here with Pops and Gams, who just got back from New York. Everyone is very excited about this plan (especially Mommy!). I love you!

Haircuts and Detectives

Mom decided to skip the puppet show this morning. She realized there is a carousel at the park where the puppet theatre is and the carousel isn't open on Tuesdays, so she thought we might have a problem if we went there and couldn't ride it, so we skipped the park all together. Instead, we had some errands to run and while we were out, she decided Harrison and I were in good enough moods to go get haircuts. They have a place called Cartoon Cuts here and we each had our very own TVs to watch. That, plus a lollipop, and the lady was able to do anything she wanted. Unfortunately, Mom was busy helping with Harrison's haircut, so she couldn't stop the lady from cutting a tad bit too much off my bangs. The good news is that means I have an extra couple weeks now until the next cut -- and that is very good news to Harrison -- he really really really dislikes the haircutting experience and would be grateful if we didn't go back for a very long time. But he looks adorable! Guess you'll have to wait until tomorrow for the 'after' shots...Mom didn't really get any today.
Once we got all pretty...and then rested...we went back over to Josh's house to play again. We had another delightful dinner together and then Josh thought he heard a noise, so we spent the rest of the evening playing detectives and trying to find it (while alternating between tiptoeing and running, squealing, and laughing!). Josh decided to point out that we were "just being silly." We thought it might be under the floorboards, but then decided to further investigate all rooms of the house with our handy flashlights. I don't think we ever found what we were looking for, but our mommies are pretty sure we forgot our original intent along the way! We had a really fun time though! Mom had a great time with her friend Julie and can't wait to see her again too!

I love you Daddy!

Another quiet day

Not too many pictures today. We met up with Mommy's friend Amy and her boys today at the park and Aunt Amy came with Abbey and Tessa came with Asher and Nadia. There sure are lots of playmates out here for me! Mommy and her girlfriends took us out to lunch again after the park and then it was home for naps. We got to splash around in the pool out back this afternoon when we woke up. Harrison is starting to like it a little bit more, but he still stays pretty close to the edge (might have something to do with the huge amount of splashing I like to do!). If all goes well tomorrow, I may get to go see a puppet show! Keep your fingers crossed for me! Good night!

Swimming

Mom went out shopping today while we were napping and she found a little swimming pool to put out on the back deck. Harrison had a really fun time watching her blow it up. He just kept smiling and laughing every time she huffed and puffed! Turns out, it makes a great playpen!

It also turns out that Harrison likes it much better WITHOUT water (or maybe without me...not sure which one). He did get in and splash around a little, but you'll see in the pictures that he also never really let go of the side of the pool. Meanwhile, I had a blast. I managed to find a way to swim laps from one side of the pool to the other. And, I tried to remember how Daddy taught me to blow bubbles in the water last summer. Daddy, you'll have to come back and give me a refresher course because somehow I kept ending up with a lot of water in my nose! I had a great time being silly and splashing. Harrison ended up moving to a safe location in Pops' arms to watch rather than get splashed any more!

The pool helped wear me out (that and running laps around Pops' basement!) and I have returned to my usual bedtime routine of going right to sleep when they take me upstairs. Phew! Gams is in New York for the next few days (tonight I said "God bless Gams on the choo choo!"... so I get Pops all to myself. I like to call him "my Pops" and I give him lots of hugs and pats on the back. He sure seems to like me too! Can't wait to see what type of fun tomorrow brings!
Oh, one more thing. I heard a plane flying over the house today and I said "that's Da Da flying plane. Hi Daddy!!!! (picture me waving my arms really big) Bye Daddy! (as the plane flew away...) See you soon!" Thanks for the flyby (even if it wasn't really you!). :)
Love, Reagan

Shaw Daycare Open for Business

Remember that show, 8 is Enough? Well, today, Mommy decided TWO is definitely enough. We had a very busy, action filled day. We got to keep Bobby all day while Aunt Jen and Uncle Kevin moved into their new house. Boy is he busy! And I was a little energized from eating donut holes for breakfast (bad idea, Mommy!) so I was a little bit crazy for a while this morning! We had a great time, though. Bobby taught Harrison how to eat Cheerios. Then, to add some more fun to the mix, Tessa came over with her two kids Asher and Nadia -- we dined together for lunch. I'm loving having all these kids to eat with! Then everyone got a bit tired (Harrison was absent for most of the morning activities because he took a 3 hour nap this morning!). So Bobby and I both took a good nap and then it was off and running again! Literally. Amy and Scott brought Abbey over and once they got here there were enough adults and kids to run a man on man defense. Phew! Bobby gave Scott lots of high fives - he's pretty good at this babysitting stuff apparently! And so is Pops! Mommy was very impressed and very aprreciative and very touched by how good Pops was at entertaining all of us kids all day. I think he even had fun! After we all had baths and got PJs on, I decided I wasn't done playing. I saw Pops crawling on the floor (he was actually reaching for a toy under the table, but I assumed he must be getting ready to play HORSE!). So I made him play horsie (Pops wants to thank Grandpa Ken for starting this game!). Gams even joined in on the fun for a little bit!

In other news, although I still struggle somedays with my counting (I keep getting stuck on 3...), today I managed to count to six in Spanish without any prompting or assistance. Thank you Dora!

Mommy went over to babysit Abbey after all of us went to sleep so that Aunt Amy and Uncle Scott could go on a date. She only had to stay for about an hour until their baby nurse came to take over, so it wasn't very tough, but she enjoyed getting some time alone to hold Abbey! Now Mommy is pretty exhausted and looking forward to taking it easy tomorrow!

Quiet day

This morning we went to the mall play area to see Mr. KnickKnack preform. You'll see from the photo that I was a little less than enthralled with him initially, but I eventually got into the spirit of things and began clapping along to B-I-N-G-O. Unfortunately, just when I started to enjoy myself, Harrison stopped, so we ended up leaving a little early. We stopped for lunch in the food court and I got to eat McDonald's with Bobby. So, all in all, it was a good morning. And, it wore me out and I took a really good nap this afternoon without any argument!
This afternoon we played around the house and went to the grocery store so that mommy could make a nice dinner for Pops and Gams. They played with us while mom cooked and we had a great time. Harrison doesn't really want to stop crawling now that he's figured it out! He was even trying to use Pops as a jungle gym and was climbing all over him! I remembered just about everyone in my bedtime prayers tonight (and I got you covered about 5 different times) at the end, I said "did I get 'em all?" God Bless ReaRea! I love you! Good night.

New Feature

It looks like we can now upload videos to our blog! This will be very fun when Daddy gets home and we return to our great movie productions. In the meantime, we'll post the latest: Harrison crawling and my school performance to keep you entertained and see if it works :).

Mission Accomplished

Well, Mom set out on a mission today to wear me out....and I will say she definitely succeeded. I decided not to nap today, so after a little quiet time in my room, we were off and running again. We went to play with my friend Josh. Mommy and his mommy worked together in San Diego so they had a lot of fun catching up (in between our frequent interruptions of "Mommy...watch this....Mommy....I need this....Mommy...she/he did this...."). Josh had a little pool set up in his backyard and he showed me how he runs and jumps in (fortunately, I did not try to replicate his stunts!). We splashed around for a while, then played a few holes of golf/hockey (we combined the two sports into one game). Harrison played with Josh's new brother Luke. Then Josh and I had a nice dinner together and then headed home.

Harrison and I both fell asleep on the car ride home (see photo). Mom woke me up to take me out of the car and I told her "I soooo sleepy." There was absolutely no difficulty getting me to go to bed tonight! Guess we'll be planning another busy day tomorrow :). Nite Nite!
