Thank You Santa!

As has been the case the past few years, Christmas morning was a blur of activity and wrapping paper shreds and we managed to catch none of it on film other than these two pictures :)

Kennedy and Madison completely understand the concept of Christmas morning as evidenced by the fact that they were the first two under the tree....they just grabbed presents and started tearing into them (didn't matter whose it was!)  Everyone was very happy and we enjoyed a fun day at the shed with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Brooke for the rest of the day

Christmas Eve 2011

One of our favorite things is that Santa finds time to stop by our house on Christmas Eve as he is getting ready to double check his naughty and nice list....we were so happy to see him....although you can see that Madison and Kennedy needed a little reassurance that he was an "okay stranger"

He brought us some great presents that gave us  hope that the morning would bring good things and we were certainly right!

It was a wonderful Christmas and the twins were exceptionally aware of the idea that Christmas means running downstairs and grabbing presents from under the tree and unwrapping them...regardless of whose they were!  It was a magical Christmas as usual and we are exceptionally grateful for all the blessings, not only under the tree...but for every blessing we have received this year!

Reagan's Christmas Concert

Harrison wanted to join the star of the show for a picture.  Reagan had another wonderful concert this year.  Next year Harrison will get to be all spiffed up too when he's in Kindergarten.  Speaking of her baby brother, do you notice he is just about the same height as his big sister???!!!

Storytime with Mrs. Claus

Our local museum hosts a Christmas Tree Extravaganza every year and every year Mrs. Claus stops by to visit the children and read them Twas The Night Before Christmas.  Various community groups each decorate trees and this year Reagan had ornaments on two of them (her CCD group at church and her Cloverbuds (4H) group).  Silly me forgot to take pictures of the trees/ornaments.....guess we better go back!  Anyhow, Reagan and Harrison had a fun afternoon eating treats, looking at trees and listening to the story (the twins were at home tucked snug in their beds for nap time)!

HO HO HO!

Well, Madison and Kennedy may be very wary of the big man in the red suit, but they sure like wearing one of his hats and saying Ho Ho Ho!

Note: for those of you who know to tell them apart by color, they decided to mess with you.  Both insisted on wearing the OTHER pair of pajamas.  So this time, Madison is in pink and Kennedy is in purple.  We always knew identical twins would play games with people to confuse them, we just didn't expect it at the ripe age of TWO!  You may also notice their pull-toy puppies which literally go everywhere with them....they are both named Sasha; a name that the girls say repeatedly with enthusiasm and usually loud, high pitched volume :)

Santa!

Well, the big guy in the red suit made his first appearance in Gettysburg at the John Deere store.  We were pretty excited to go see him.  (However, now that Reagan knows Santa has "helpers" she is more skeptical and even said "I think I'm going to go in and ask if he's the REAL Santa."  We discussed why this might not be such a good idea and she decided to let it go (phew!).  Harrison took one look at him when we got there and stated "Well, it doesn't look like Bobby!" (Bobby is the one they figured out last year was hiding in the disguise at one event).  So the magic lives on for another day :)

Kennedy and Madison weren't so into the magic or the big stranger that everyone wanted them to go sit with.  After much cajoling, they agreed to sit on the couch next to him, but both made it very apparent they were not going to even look at the jolly ol' fella.
