Make that triple duty.
Shortly after my last post, Reagan walked in with a tooth in her hand too. Make that three visits from the tooth fairy

Summer Fun
We are quickly realizing one of the best decisions we have made lately was to buy a cabin out at the river to spend our weekends during the summer. The kids have been having a blast this summer and this weekend brought even more fun with an impromptu sleepover. Madison's response to finding out their friend was staying too was absolute elation. It was the twins' very first time having a friend stay for a sleepover. She pointed out that I always tell them they are too young, so she was surprised and very very excited. The girls enjoyed s'mores by the fire, took out the telescope and found Saturn, and got (a little bit of) sleep.
They woke in the morning and got straight down to some serious work at painting nails (little girls) and a few games of bumper pool (big girls). You may be wondering at this point about our other child....Harrison pretty much just steered clear of all of them and kept pretending the whole thing wasn't happening :).
Their mom and dad headed out and joined us on the boat for the day and they all enjoyed some tubing and kept trying to learn to water ski (still a work in progress for all).
My friend Amber captured this moment of Corey with his girls. Love it and love how much they adore him!
And we ended the day with a simple pizza dinner....and even that wasn't fast enough food for Miss Reagan. She was beat and fell asleep without taking a bite.
We told her to go ahead and head to bed. She stopped in the entry to get a blanket out of her bag from the weekend and then we found her in the cubby. Sleepy, sleepy girl!
Kennedy thought it looked comfy and tried to give in to her exhaustion as well. (she however, managed to get a second wind and stayed up a little bit later before calling it a night)
It was a fantastic weekend

Two Years
Happy anniversary of your homecoming day, Ladybird Chocolate Bar the First. You certainly make it difficult to at times, but we adore you as much today as this day when we picked you up. Lady's favorite things to do include barking ferociously at the postman and UPS man, herding her little cow (known to us as Harrison)...she loves to round him up when we call his name - and so there are many times we call his name for no reason other than the entertainment of watching Ladybird go get him! She's a momma's girl and often waits all day on the doormat for me to come home...she gets a little better each day so hopefully year three will be a good one for us!

That Was Then....This is Now
One of my favorite pictures of all four kids...
taken November 2012
And below, without even asking them to do it, they piled on top of Reagan again and recreated it this weekend.
July 2015...love these four to pieces!!!

Look Pretty, Play Hard
The twins are playing tball for the first time this summer. It certainly isn't their favorite pastime yet...These are the girls who almost exclusively live in formal wear and love to dance and be princesses. But, we thought we would try something new and they haven't complained about it. They seem to be picking dandelions more than watching for the ball when they are in the outfield, but they have managed to hit the ball and score a few runs for their team (as Madison once said, "I ran and ran and didn't get "caught" the whole game!). Well, today was team picture day and they all went in their team jerseys and had their "real" sports pictures taken and then one of the other mommies thought we should copy a team photo that has gone viral on social media lately. This was by far the highlight of the season for Madison and Kennedy!!!
Are you ready to TUMBLE?!?!!!

The girls with their ribbons and with their class:
Today was Reagan's turn for a final run through the course and awards. She did fantastic and was one of two kids in her class to earn all three ribbons. Way to go Reagan!
Here We Go Again...
There are some shelves in my bedroom next to the fireplace, and one of those shelves has these books on it:
And there are many, many days that I find any one of my four children sitting in a chair reading these books. These books are hardcover copies of the blog we started in 2007. They LOVE reading and looking at pictures and remembering stories of some of the funny and amazing things they have done. And somewhere along the line....life got a little too busy with four little people with lots of immediate needs and I stopped updating the blog. It became too easy to post a picture to Facebook and leave a footprint of a memory there...but a quick photo on Facebook doesn't include the stories and memories quite like these books do and I'm not sure my Facebook feed will be as interesting to look back at as these books are. So, I'm HOPING to get back to putting pictures and updates here. Partly for family that isn't on Facebook that has been missing out...but mostly for my kids, so that they can have these memory books to look back on (because Lord knows, as much as I enjoy scrapbooking, I will never get caught up with it.) This fall, I will have all four kids in school (gasp!), so hopefully I can even go back and fill in the gap of time with photos and memories and reminders from Facebook posts during that time. Wish us luck!
