Little Legislators

We finally had a school holiday that coincided with a day the legislature was in session, so despite yucky snowy roads, we traveled down to Pierre last Friday to watch Daddy hard at work. Daddy was all ready for us and even had little badges for us to wear that identified us as "Little Legislators." We were allowed to sit with him at his desk on the Senate floor and Harrison even figured out which button to push to turn on the microphone at his desk! (luckily he didn't do this until after session was adjourned!)

I'm pretty sure this picture is of the exact moment that Harrison found "the button" that turned on the microphone. Notice that little twinkle of trouble glimmering in his smiling eyes???? All anyone heard over the speakers was "HARRISON PUSHED THE BUTTON!!!"
A group shot....we were a little stir crazy after sitting quiet with Daddy.... We would have loved to show off the twins that day as well, but session falls during naptime and Mom is pretty sure it would have been a bit too much to handle for them or for her to take all 4 of us down there that day :)

On a Typical Weekend During Session....

You will find all four of us kiddos in the closest possible proximity to Daddy that we can get. Especially the twins....the minute he sits down somewhere, the two of them get to him as fast as possible and climb up to claim their spot on his lap. Kennedy cries the second he leaves the room to go to the bathroom or answer a phone call and can usually be found about two steps behind him following him wherever he goes and asking to be picked up.

Battler Cheerleading

It's that time of year again....the Junior Battler Cheer Camp. It's still one of my favorite things to do and I really enjoyed cheering again this year. We did two performances (one at a varsity girls game and one at the boys) and we are going to do one more at the Manor for the residents who don't or can't get out to the games. For all of you who want to see it, feel free to click on the video below....otherwise, just enjoy the few pictures mom managed to take the other night. My Funny Valentines

Daddy had to leave yesterday to go back to Pierre. We actually drove him down there and Mom realized that wasn't such a good idea as she watched me crumple into a heap of tears saying goodbye to Daddy. To say that it broke their hearts to watch was an understatement. This is the first year that I seem really old enough to voice my objection to this routine. Thankfully, a happy meal did the trick and we are now counting down the days until he comes back on Thursday!
