Getting Close

Mommy got her first tour of the Birth Place at her hospital today....the doctor sent her over to get hooked up for a non-stress test to check on Mommy and the babies. Mom's blood pressure was reading a little high and the doctor just wanted to see how the babies were doing in there. Luckily, everyting looked great with the babies and after laying down for the test, Mom's blood pressure was back where it should be. So, Mommy has been told to stay off her feet as much as possible. The doctor also said to go ahead and get our bags packed. We could easily go another few weeks and we could just as easily get this show on the road tomorrow. Mom is hoping for at least one more week, but is glad to see that the babies are doing great and will most likely be fine at this point. The best news is that Baby A has flipped over and is no longer breach....we just might avoid a c-section yet. Cross your fingers for us! Of course, then Mom & Dad will have their hands full explaining to me how those babies got out! (they've only told me half of the story so far...)

Homecoming

We didn't end up with many pictures from last week. Friday was Homecoming and they had the parade here. Mom gave me the option of staying home from preschool to go to the parade, but decided I wanted to go to school. So I tasked Harrison with going and getting all the kinds of candy that I like! He did a good job. Here's a picture of him collecting all the goods:
The rest of the weekend was pretty quiet. Mom has been busy "nesting." She cleaned out half of the living room on Saturday (she's dreaming of a new couch and thinks if she makes the room for it, maybe it will come!). We had Grandma and Grandpa over to watch a horrendous (but victorious, at least) Notre Dame football game and then took it easy on Sunday as well.

Mom is headed to the doctor this afternoon to check on the twins. We'll let you know how things go! It's getting close!

School Days

Today was the first day of preschool! We got off to a bit of a late start this year due to a technical difficulty (they had to find a new teacher at the last minute....luckily they found a great one!). We started a few weeks later than originally planned, so I was definitely ready when today rolled around. I wanted to go as soon as I woke up this morning! Mom told me we'd go after lunch, so I asked if we could eat lunch at about 9:30!! Daddy came home from work and took me to my first day. He said I jumped out of the car as soon as he pulled into the parking lot, blew him a kiss and said Bye Daddy! Yup....I was excited! Daddy actually did come in with me, but he certainly didn't need to. I'm a school girl now and I love it! Harrison is happy to have Mommy all to himself. She was worried he might be sad not to get to go along, but all he wanted to do was play cars with Mommy all afternoon and he was a happy kiddo.

34 Weeks

There's over 9 pounds of baby in there already! Mommy says she has officially started losing her ankles -- Aunt Christie and Aunt Amy are both entertained by this and requested pictures of that....mom's not sure she's ready to share!

Fun and Games - Another Great Weekend

We had a nice relaxing weekend again -- Mom and Dad are trying to fit in as many of those as they can before the craziness begins! Mommy's friend Amber called first thing Saturday morning to see if us kids wanted to play with the twins (mommy can't say enough how much she appreciates Amber looking out for her these days!). They came up with a plan that made all of us pretty happy. The twins came over to our house to play for the whole morning and then Harrison and I went home with them and played at their house all afternoon. It was fantastic, according to any of us that you ask! Here's a few pictures of our fun. Mom and Dad are realizing they don't need to come up with names for our babies because I just call both girls "twin" -- poor things....someday I'll use their names, I'm sure!

More Good News

Mommy's doctor's appointment went great again. She's growing and so are the babies! Baby A (stubborn and still breach) looks to be weighing in at 4 lbs, 12 oz and Baby B (stubborn for pictures, but in the right position) is about 4 and 1/2 pounds. Doctor and the ultrasound tech said they look just perfect and they also look cozy -- most likely they will cooperate and stay put another few weeks. Baby B dodged the paparazzi (a.k.a. the ultrasound tech, doctor and mommy) and covered his/her face the whole time, so no pictures. Baby A was also a bit camera shy, but they did manage to get this little bit of the face. Once you get your bearings and make the picture out, the baby actually looks pretty darn adorable!
Mom goes back for another check up in 2 weeks.

Tonight is my preschool open house....I'm so excited to be starting school! Monday is our first day, so I'm sure there will be pictures to post!

A week without pictures...

We had a great week, but no pictures to prove it....so we'll share a few pictures from the weekend before. Our friend Avery came over to play on Saturday which turned out nicely since this was also the day of the first Notre Dame football game (the one that we actually won). Avery was great to have around to keep us entertained when we lost interest in the football game!Mom and Dad are starting to realize the twins could be coming pretty soon, so they started putting the cribs together and setting up the nursery. Harrison and I were happy to help by testing out the construction of the cribs and pretending to be babies to help set the mood...
Sunday, we spent out at the river. We actually played on the shore for the first time and had a great time wading in the water, throwing rocks and enjoying the gorgeous day...
This past week we got to spend the night in a hotel while Daddy was at meetings and they have the best indoor pool -- the whole thing is shallow and warm and full of little kid slides and toys. Mom had her hands full with her big ol' belly and two kids in the water, so she didn't even try to take a camera along! We got to see PaPa and Grandma lots last week too which was so much fun. Saturday, I got to go to a birthday party (which made Harrison pretty sad because he had to stay home....but he quickly learned that sometimes it's fun to be the only kid at home!) and Sunday, Mommy's friend (who has 3 year old twin girls that I love) came and took Harrison and me for the day -- Mom said something about her being a lifesaver. Thank you Amber!

Mom heads to the doctor again on Wednesday for another ultrasound to see how the babies are growing....she'll post an update after that!

32 weeks

Doctor Report

All went well at the doctor's. Mommy is happy to report that Harrison and I did pretty well, especially considering we had to wait an extra hour for our appointment. We were nice to everyone in the office and there were no major meltdowns. Phew! Even more of a relief was to hear the doctor say the babies look great....they are growing -- and so is Mommy -- she is measuring at 38 weeks! (twins generally measure 4 weeks ahead....mom is 31 and 1/2, but he says this is all fine and good -- we just have to watch for signs of preterm labor since mommy's body will think the twins are all done well before they really are....but again everything else is doing its part in helping to keep the twins stay put). Baby A appears to be breach, so we're hoping he/she takes up an interest in gymnastics and tries to turn around in the next month or so. Heartrate of Baby A was 134 and Baby B was 139. Mommy goes back for another ultrasound in 2 weeks. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Happy Birthday Harrison!

My "little" brother turned 3 yesterday! What a fun day we had celebrating! I helped make the cake as you can see by the evidence in the photos below....
We took Harrison down to Pierre to pick out a big boy bed from Pops and Gams (pics to follow when it gets delivered next week) and a bike from us. He of course picked out a Tonka truck one with a Lightning McQueen helmet. He doesn't quite grasp the pedaling concept -- he much prefers to have someone push him or to just get off and push the bike himself -- but he'll get it soon!

He wanted a green tractor cake...

And his birthday wishes came true with LOTS of presents that were cars, trucks and tractors! Grandma and PaPa even gave him a gas pump to go with his new pickup. He had no trouble showing his appreciation and admiring every single present - a genuine wow and amazement at each item. He loved his birthday. And Mommy's best friend Tessa was so sweet and sent me a present to open on his birthday too, so I handled the whole day quite well too!

Today we are off to the doctor for Mommy's check up and ultrasound. Keep your fingers crossed. Mom is a little nervous just to see that all is well with the babies and that (as uncomfortable as it may be) they plan to stay in and bake a few more weeks.....but she's mostly nervous because Harrison and I have to tag along to the appointment. We'll post later to let you know how everything goes!
