Mommy and Daddy made a fast getaway this weekend to celebrate their birthdays and to get a final glimpse of life without kiddos before getting ready to play zone defense with four of us. Daddy had an event to attend out in Rapid City and Grandma and Papa were so sweet to offer to let us kids stay with them so Mommy could go with him. The trip might not have been the smartest idea for Mommy, but they had a great time and she's glad she went along. Friday night was a Republican dinner and they got all dolled up for it. Mommy ended up choosing a long dress since no one really needs to see just how swollen her legs, ankles and feet are!

These are Mommy and Daddy's friends that they spent most of their time with this weekend. We just wanted to shout out a little Vote for Jason message. Jason sits next to Daddy on the Senate floor and is campaigning for Secretary of State in 2010.
Saturday, one of the Senators invited us to his "cabin" by Mt. Rushmore. To say it is a beautiful setting is a HUGE understatement. Follow us as we drive up to the house....
And then walk in the front door to this gorgeous view. Not sure if you can see what the view is through that middle window so let's zoom in just a smidge....
Yep.....this house is all alone in a gorgeous setting with a completely unobstructed view of Mt. Rushmore. It was absolutely stunning. Wow....

A beautiful afternoon and a delicious lunch....a great way to end the trip.
Meanwhile, us kids had a blast with Grandma and Papa. I think we wore them out pretty good and we're hoping that the babies wait just a little bit before making their arrival so Grandma and Papa can get rested back up before we return for another stay! Thank you Grandma and Papa!!!
