Unbelievable
The twins came earlier than expected, so maybe we shouldn't be that surprised that the snow is coming a little earlier than expected too....this is the view out Mommy's hospital room window right now...

The Family
I finally got to go to the hospital to see my little sisters... and my timing was perfect! They had just taken Kennedy off of her monitors and they gave her a bath. Two perfect clean little babies! Needless to say, I could barely contain myself. Here is Kennedy enjoying her spa treatment...
Mom and Dad were so excited to see our two little faces peeking through the window into the nursery...
I immediately stated that I wanted to hold "the little one." I held on tight to Kennedy and declared my love for her over and over and over again.
Harrison said he would hold "the big one." That's the first time anyone has used big to describe Madison! Harrison was pretty impressed and we were all impressed how well he held her
Grandma didn't want to pick one, so she went ahead and held both girls at the same time:
But I didn't like letting go of Kennedy for too long at a time, so I went and helped Grandma out...
We gave Papa a turn too....although he spent most of his time keeping Harrison reigned in....
Mom and Dad still can't believe they have four perfect, healthy, and beautiful kiddos. They are so blessed.
Hugs and kisses for the twins
We came back after going out for supper and I brought one of my stuffed animals to show to Kennedy. I think she really liked it.
She was wide awake and had a lot of fun watching me.
She started to fuss and I was able to calm her down with her pacifier and get her back to sleep. Mom is thrilled to have such a great helper already!
We didn't want to leave but headed home with Grandma and Papa and are counting down the minutes until those girls get to come home to us! Hopefully just a few more days!

News
Both babies have graduated off their monitors and are laying together in a bassinet in Karen's room -- what a happy day! Grandma and Papa brought Reagan and Harrison up to meet their baby sisters - such a precious moment. We will hopefully post some more pictures later tonight. Just wanted to share all the good news from today!
Reunited
Today was a big day for Madison. She graduated out of Level II and gets to leave the warming bed for a bassinet and should be moved into Mom's room this afternoon. All the monitors have been removed and she should be disconnected from her IV soon. She was able to nurse for the first time today and is doing great. Here's a picture of her getting her first bath:

All clean and ready for her first photo shoot...
Kennedy is doing fantastically as well. The pneumothorax was gone from the repeat chest x-ray this morning and they were going to start feedings again to see how she tolerates them. Thanks for all the prayers last night -- they worked!
Now that Madison is free to roam where she likes, we were able to take her and lay her down next to her sister and they looked so happy to be back together
Karen is still doing great and healing well. And Corey is doing an awesome job of running back and forth between the babies and Mom to make sure everyone is happy and well taken care of!

Night 2
Just got back from sitting with the babies. Madison is doing fantastic....she looks so peaceful and cozy and happy. Kennedy could use a little good wishes and prayers tonight. She is still doing well too, but is having a little bit of a hard time with her lungs still. An x-ray tonight showed a very small pneumothorax (small hole that will supposedly heal itself) so they are keeping a close watch over her and have stopped her feedings to focus on getting the breathing going right. They'll do another x-ray tomorrow but say really time is her best healer right now. But please send her all your good thoughts tonight. We'll update everyone again in the morning. Good night!
The Twins - Day 2
The girls are doing great! We were finally able to go down to the nursery and actually hold them. Below Corey is holding Madison and Karen is holding Kennedy. Both girls have had two feedings and both have eaten well. Mom and Dad got to do the feedings this last time. Madison is a piglet and drank hers down flat. Kennedy fell asleep halfway through but everyone was still proud of her! They have taken Madison off the oxygen and are slowly weaning Kennedy off of hers. The pediatrician and nurses hope to have the babies in the room with Karen by tomorrow. They are tiny little girls, but just so precious and perfect

Below is Kennedy Lynn (her IV is in her foot, so no splint here....right now that and their size are the easiest ways to tell the girls apart!). To answer many of your questions, we are still waiting for the pathology report on the placenta to know if the girls are identical or fraternal twins.

They're Here!
Welcome to the world Madison Rose and Kennedy Lynn!
Mommy went in for a check up today. She thought it would be uneventful, but Daddy thought they should take along the hospital bags just to be on the safe side. Guess Daddy was right. The doctor started to get a little nervous because Mom was already at 2 cm and then when she did the ultrasound, it looked like Baby B wasn't growing as much as she should be. So after some quick deliberation, she decided we would be better to go ahead and get the babies out. Baby B had turned around and was breach, so a c-section was scheduled for about an hour later....
All went perfectly with the c-section and both babies came out screaming. Madison Rose was born first (2:39pm) and was 5 lbs, 9 oz followed by Kennedy Lynn (2:40pm) who is a tiny little thing at 4 lbs, 14 ozs. They are both gorgeous, if we can say so ourselves. Mommy is recovering well so far but is anxious to go see the babies who she hasn't seen since they showed them to her after delivering them. Daddy has been close by the girls while they run a few tests and they will be wheeling Mommy down shortly to visit. We'll keep everyone posted on how things go as they will be watching them closely over the next 24-48 hours.
