Peek-a-boo and Popsicles

I figured out how to lock Harrison in the office this morning...luckily Mommy was in there with him and apparently he thought the whole thing was hilarious, especially once I turned it into a game of peek-a-boo. The rest of our day was pretty quiet. We played at home and then this afternoon we went with Mommy to her doctor's appointment. Both of us were very well behaved and I had a great time watching and commenting on everything the doctor did. When the nurse was taking mom's blood pressure, I told her "I have one of those too!" referring to the cuff in my doctor's kit at home. I think the nurse was very impressed. I even asked the doctor if I could get some shots! (they said no) Harrison and I both got stickers for being so good.

My new favorite thing is to sit outside in my new lawn chair and talk to Daddy. Tonight since I ate all of my dinner, I got to eat a popsicle too. I liked it so much that Mom and Dad are wondering if I'll ever sit outside without a popsicle again... Harrison got to try a popsicle too. You can see for yourself what his reaction was....COLD!

Potty Time

Mom and Dad were polite enough to spare you pictures of today...this is because the big news today is that I told them I needed to go poop and I went on the big girl potty! And I kept my diaper dry for the rest of the night afterwards too! So they took me out for an ice cream cone to celebrate. They forgot their camera, but Daddy took some pictures of me with his cell phone. It was my first ice cream cone and I loved it! So did Harrison...but there really isn't anything that kid doesn't eat right now!

Did you miss us?

Sorry for going an entire week without updating the blog. Mom has really enjoyed her little vacation from it though! We have had a fantastic week with Daddy home again. Lots of fun lunches out, trips to the park, just playing at home, swimming and - of course - working on the infamous patio. Well, the patio is finally finished! The only thing left is to finish tiling the sides of the steps and then who knows what we'll do with all our free time! Here are a few pictures for those of you who have been watching our little work in progress (and a few pictures of me playing soccer and mowing the grass -- I was supposed to be getting my PJs on so that's why I'm only in my diaper!):

To celebrate Daddy being home and finishing the patio, Mom and Dad had a big bbq for the guys from Corey's work last night. They must have had a really fun time because they stayed up until 3 in the morning (so when I woke up at 6:30, you can imagine how much fun they were having then!). So we obviously had a fairly quiet morning and then this afternoon after everyone took a nap we met up with Dan & Margaret & Allison & Ethan at our neighborhood pool and then they came over for dinner. We actually fit all four of us kids in the double stroller to walk to the house.

Dad heads back to work this week and life will start getting back to normal for a little while. We promise to keep the blog updated at least once a week :).

A video too!

Here's a video Mom took of me as we watched the plane pull over to the hangar after it landed. Can you tell I'm excited to see him????

Daddy's Home!

First of all, thank you to everyone for getting us through the past three months. We've appreciated all the support, prayers and well wishes. Okay, now, here's the pictures from Daddy's homecoming...

After a false alarm of an early return and then a few delays, we finally got "the call" that Daddy was coming home. We got ready and headed down to the base only to be told "there's been a delay." We had some bad storms yesterday so the plane couldn't land and they were just circling overhead -- torture! Then there was word that they might have to leave and go land somewhere else to get more fuel, in which case they might have to delay another day to come home! Luckily, there was a break in the storms and they made their approach and landed the plane. We got pretty wet standing outside for the fly-in, but we didn't care. It was so exciting standing there as the engines shut down. We had to wear earplugs to help drown out the engine noise and luckily I liked wearing them. Mom took a picture of that too. Daddy was flying the plane and he opened his front window and waved to me while they were getting ready to come out. I yelled Hi Daddy! I want to give you a BIG HUG!!! Of course, he was the last person to come off, but it was worth the wait. I went running to him and gave him a great big hug! Mom's favorite picture is the one of us running to each other. Harrison even acted happy to see him! To end the afternoon, as we were getting in the car to come home there was a big rainbow! Can you get a more perfect day than that?

My Daddy is on there!

Those were Reagan's words when she saw Daddy's plane! He's here! Pictures will come soon! But the most important part is that Daddy is home!

ETA 1800

I almost hate to put it in writing for fear of jinxing anything, but it looks like Daddy's plane will be landing tonight at 6:00!
